Brent
began the meeting by reviewing the agenda from the last meeting. He restated that that there is no Prom date
or venue set as of yet. This will be
determined by Mrs. Austin and the 2011 class officers. We cannot set a venue for Project Prom
until the date and venue for Prom is determined.
Liz
Bridges asked that if anyone knows of someone who is not receiving e-mails,
please have them contact her at:tbridges8086@sbcglobal.net.
The
most important item that needs to be taken care of is getting the Project Prom information
packets ready to be given out at Tiger Take-off.For Juniors, this will be on August 19th.This packet is very important because it
will have all vital information pertaining to Project Prom.Examples of the information packet were read
and revised.Pam Krueger is in charge of
editing and typing up the final draft.Maria Martinez will make copies.
Sal
Angel is in charge of getting the Project Prom 2011 website up and running and
he is hoping to have the website up very soon.Discussion followed about other possible ways to effectively communicate. It was suggested that in the future we might
set up a Facebook page to communicate.
Christine
Gonzales had volunteered to be in charge of “Family Night”.However, she announced that there were no
available dates on the school calendar to schedule this event. However, she has agreed to be in charge of
both garage sales next year. There will
be garage sales held both in the fall and in the spring.
Discussion
was held concerning the sale of wristband spirit bracelets as a fundraiser.Several commented that their students showed
interest in buying these.Hopefully
these will be ready to sell at “Party on the Patio” on August 20th.Both the colors of the bracelet and the
inscription need to be determined.It
was agreed that the bracelets need to appeal to every class, not just the class
of 2011.Brent will check with Gordon
Musgrove who volunteered at the last meeting to research possibilities.Brent also encouraged those in attendance to
research fundraising companies that sell bracelets.Send any websites or information to Brent at brent@vfhouston.com.The ordering
needs to take place before the next Project Prom meeting in order to have the
bracelets ready in time.Brent suggested
that decisions regarding the bracelets be made my e-mail.
Brent
announced that there will be no Project Prom meeting during the month of July,
but it will be necessary to meet before school begins on August 24th.An e-mail will be sent informing everyone
of the date and time of the next meeting.
